A Brighter Start To 2012
Happy New Year for 2012 to each and every one of you!
It’s been so much fun bringing the news, sport, shobiz gossip, quizzes and hits up and down the decades throughout the year. It’s also been lovely to receive so many nice messages during the shows too. It’s so very much appreciated.
So, what’s in store for 2012? A later start for one thing. From next week, the Brighter Breakfast will be starting at 7am, which will be a godsend, an extra hour in the land of nod for my creaking bones!
There will be no let up in the speed and quality with which anything affecting everyone in East Thurrock and Basildon is relayed. Travel bulletins every 15 minutes, extensive daily local news and sport reports, it’s pretty much the staple diet of why Gateway 97.8 is here.
I’ve been plesanatly surprised by how popular the Brain Boggler is, and that will retain it’s slot just after the news at 8. Here’s a sad scret though. I’ve not had to research any of the questions!
For some obscure reason the vast majority of the questions, those that haven’t been passed onto me, has come off the top of my head. I really should get out more!
A hit from every decade from the 50′s to the present day, every hour, has also proved to be something that really appeals. The idea behind was to make sure that there’s something for everyone, knowing there would be people of all ages listening. I’m so pleased it’s caught on!
Above all, though, it would be nothing without you turning yor dials to 97.8 FM, listening, requesting and quizzing. I have always seen it as a priviliged position to be able to help people in Basildon and East Thurrock start their day and get to work a little bit more smoothly. That, despite the later start, will never change.
