DP World London Gateway — a Woman’s Place

At one time the environment of a dockside would be the last place any self-respecting woman would want to work: heavy, dirty work, no job security, exposure to all weathers, poor conditions and pretty rough company being just a few of the drawbacks.
How times have changed.
Lisa Johnson is one of those women to have discovered a world of work she loves at the state of the art DP World London Gateway where she is part of a team responsible for the efficient movement of containers from some of the largest container ships on the world.
She tells Yvonne about her job and why driving the massive cranes used to unload giant ships is a great job for women — and men too.
