Clipper Around the world race Monday 31^st August Southend pier 12:30pm

Southend Pier will be the start line for the 2015-2016 Clipper Ventures Round the World Yacht Race. Commencing at 12:30pm Monday 31st August

This will be the start of over 40,000 nautical mile race around the world, visiting 16 cities across 6 continents. Yachts depart from St Katharine’s dock to the start line at Southend Pier. The first leg of the race is Southend Pier to Rio De Janeiro, over 5200 miles and 30 days at sea.

Southend Pier will be offering every visitor a free tea or coffee in the Pier café with the purchase of a train return or walk & ride ticket on the day of the race. Simply show your receipt in the Pier café where it will be stamped for your choice of tea or coffee. Normal pier admission applies.

Jackson – Live In Concert Towngate Theatre Wednesday 2^nd September 7:30pm

Great Burstead and South Green Village Council are hosting a Fun Day. Family entertainment to include bouncy castles, Punch and Judy, face painting, brass band, zumba, dog show, coconut shy, hook the duck. hoopla, craft stalls and various information stalls. Model railway in the Hall
