Gateway To Jazz with David Fenn

Gateway to Jazz is presented by David Fenn on behalf of the rotary Club of Corringham Thmeside and seeks to bring you all the best from the world of jazz. We cover a wide range of jazz styles, including Traditional New Orleans, Big Band and Swing, Boogie Woogie, Bebop, Modern, Mainstream, Cool, Acid and blues, not to mention the various jazz fusions.

The first hour of the programme usually concentrates on a particular theme, a musician, band, song-writer, style or even a jazz venue, whilst the second set of the programme concentrates on a plethora of styles of jazz music with some of the bands and musicians that ply their trade locally.

Sometimes we include interviews with musicians of the genre and have in the past interviewed Kenny Ball, Acker Bilk, Chris Barber and we have also talked to local jazz artists such as Tim Huskisson, Dave Browning and Carol Braithwaite. We are continually looking for knew ideas and are keen to promote local musicians. Just send me a Cd and I will endeavour to play it on air.
