Fire in Wickford

A huge blaze broke out in an industrial building yesterday in Fanton Hall Farm, Wickford. Crews from several stations, including Basildon, Wickford and Billericay were called shortly before 4pm to the fire, which started in a storage unit. When the fire crews arrived the building was completely alight. The roof of the building collapsed around 10pm, with the fire brigade continuing to tackle the blaze. No injuries were reported. Horses were moved from stables and fields as there were concerns for their safety. The cause of the blaze is not yet known. The smoke could be seen from the A127
