Parents are being worn down by the pressure to give their children mobile phones, while carrying serious fears about what happens once those devices are in their hands.

New research from Uswitch reveals 83% of parents have at least one worry about their child’s digital life, with many trying to balance online safety, repeated requests and the fear their child will be left out if they do not have the same access as their friends.

Father of three and Olympic champion Greg Rutherford says he is facing that pressure at home now. He has not given his children mobile phones and does not want to rush the decision, but says he is trying not to give in to growing pushback.
