The hottest topic for conversation on Friday’s Good Afternoon had to be the European Referendum, and John Baron, the Conservative MP for Basildon and Billericay, is firmly seated in the ‘out’ camp. We also discussed local matters in the wake of the council elections which saw no significant change in Basildon this year. Is future house building really a threat to ‘Green Belt’ land? Is the Government set to resume talks with junior doctors over pay and working hours? And what is the Prime Minister, David Cameron, and his cabinet, being urged to do to protect workers’ pensions at British Home Stores, after the recent revelation that savers’ money has disappeared? You can hear John talk about all of these issues plus news of the ‘John Baron Fun Walk’ at Barleylands by clicking the links above.
