It may be hot, hot, hot outside but on this week’s edition of Digital Blues on Gateway 97.8 I have some chillin’ choons!:

  • I open with a great working of a Willie Dixon song that seems oh so relevant to now from The Snyders
  • There are five tracks from the CD celebrating 45 years of Alligator Records and I remember Johnny Winter who died a couple of years ago. – Rick Estrin & the Nightcats, Smokin’ Joe Kubek & Bnois King, Tommy Castro and the Painkillers and JJ Grey & Mofro
  • I have a quartet of blues tunes from Spain with Travellin’ Brothers, Vargas Blues Band, A Contra Blues and Wax & Boogie Big Combo
  • In the gig guide there are tracks from Kentucky Head Hunters, Backwater Roll Blues Band, Sean Webster & the Deadlines, Storm Warning and Doug MacLeod
  • A pair of chilled instrumentals from Richie Milton & the Lowdown and Deke McGee
  • A track from IBBA PotM by Amanda Saint John plus recent arrivals from Pistol Pete Wearn, Roadhouse and Bridget Kelly Band
  • And finally I remember our great friend Ray Bartrip who left us six years ago.

Oh soooo cooool!
