Charlie Thompson from the Yellow Advertiser

Charlie Thompson, the lead reporter from the Yellow Advertiser, is the regular Thursday guest on Drivetime here on Gateway 97.8.

He highlights significant stories from the paper, discussing them with Yvonnne.

Subjects this week include: heavy-handed discipline exerted by Basildon Council on someone who had the temerity to ask a question on a matter of public interest; the Coroner who was criticised but with the reasons kept under wraps.

The front page story tells of the local ambulance service that is given a swingeing fine it cannot afford, without a severe impact upon front line services, for consistently failing to meet its performance target thanks to increased demand for its services, a shortage of staff and crippling budget constraints.

But it’s not all doom and gloom: have a listen and let us know your views. The complete interview is in four parts.
