Happy Saturday!
@TylerPittaway back on air this week on Coffee & Tea after a MONTH off! Fortunately I managed to remember what all the faders, knobs and buttons do…
To be fair, having two weeks in Ibiza and a birthday weekend could have definitely made me forget how to present on the radio. I like to think that things went mostly to plan today, however!
So then, what did I talk about on this week’s show?
On this day in music:
- 1968 – Deep Purple made No.4 on the US singles chart with their debut single ‘Hush’
- 1974 – Barry White went to No.1 on the US singles chart with ‘Can’t Get Enough Of Your Love Baby’
- 1974 – Carl Douglas was at No.1 on the UK singles chart with ‘Kung Fu Fighting’
In your celeb birthdays, we have:
- Bill Murray, 69
- Jason Derulo, 30
- Liam Gallagher, 47
For your trip back in time:
Gateway Gold is our feature we do around quarter-past and quarter-to, hours during the day on Gateway 97.8. This week on the show, the system found these in the archive:
Hermans Hermits – Sunshine Girl
Johnny Nash – I Can See Clearly Now
Bangles – Manic Monday
Sinead O’Connor – Nothing Compares to You
Sophie Ellis Bextor – Take Me Home (A Girl Like Me)
Jessie J – Domino
And that’s about it! Obviously I played a load of great music which you can hear again on the Gateway listen again service, here!
That’s your lot for this week. Keep listening to Gateway, and I’ll be back with you soon! 🙂
