Coffee & Tea on Gateway 97.8

Happy Saturday!

@TylerPittaway back with you this week on Gateway.

So, I had a weird thing happen off-mic today. I had a customer service number call me in relation to a recent order for my flat. I missed it and rang back during a Justin Timberlake track, and, as they answered the phone I only had about 30 seconds left to chat before I needed to do a link! So, what do I do?

Obviously there was only one option available. I needed to tell the person on the end of the phone that I was on the radio… and she got to hear the link in FULL down her call-centre headset. TBF: she took it in good spirits. I think she found it funnier than anything. Suppose it must have made working on a Saturday slightly better…

Thank god she didn’t swear on speaker phone!

On this day in music:

  • 1979, The Police had their first UK No.1 single with ‘Message In A Bottle’
  • 1984, Prince and the Revolution started a two week run at No.1 on the US singles chart with ‘Let’s Go Crazy’, a No.7 hit in the UK
  • 1999, The Manic Street Preachers were given a bill for £28.000 after smashing up equipment during their show at T In The Park

In your celeb birthdays, we have:

  • Halsey, 24
  • Zachary Levi, 38
  • Jerry Lee Lewis, 83

For your trip back in time:

That’s your lot for this week. I’ll be back with you soon! 🙂
