Mike Bromfield, organiser of Leigh Festival, talking to Ros Connors on Coffee & Tea

Well we certainly had a party when Saturday 29th June 2013 saw the 22nd Leigh Folk Festival roll onto the shores of Essex, and Gateway 97.8 were there to join in the celebrations.

Ros Connors and the Gateway team all took shelter from it all in The Book Inn, 49 Broadway West, Leigh-on-Sea, to bring you Coffee & Tea to the festival for three hours. Plus The Local Chart with Jack Sullivan in association with HMV. Oh, and we mean the show… We didn’t become tea ladies for the afternoon!

The live OB show featured live entertainment from some of Britain’s best musicians from the folk music scene and we even laughed out loud as we tried our hand at poetry on the programme.

The UK’s biggest free Folk Festival, was right here in Leigh-on-Sea between 27th – 30th June, in and around Leigh, Library Gardens and the Old Town.

We will be back for it’s 23rd great year in 2014!
