Entrants are paired up with a professional dancer to learn two dances, and battle it out in March 2019. The more money raised by each the more points they make as they reach the Big Night where the public audience also can add to the scores by paying for text votes, and of course the Judges on the night will be there to help give more points before someone will be crowned the winner.

Gateway 97.8 director and Deputy Mayor of Basildon, Danny Lawrence will be your host on the night. Throughout the next few months, listeners will get a chance to hear from the couples and we will promote their Just Giving pages.

About the event: the dances will consist of one ballroom and one Latin dance.

Both of these dances are to be performed in a St Luke’s Strictly Spectacular in front of an audience of family and friends at the prestigious Civic Hall on Saturday 16th March 2019.

In order to be crowned the 2019 winner, points are collected over 3 rounds. All participants are required to raise a minimum sponsorship of £500 with additional points be awarded for the more money you raise. For example, fundraising worth £500 equals 5 points, £600 – 6 points, and so on. You will only be able to collect a maximum of 20 points (£2,000+).

There will then be 4 independent judges who will score each dance on the night. The audience also have the opportunity for their favourite couple to win.
