The custodians of Remembrance, The Royal British Legion call onto the nation to unite in commemorating Remembrance Sunday at the 2016 Cenotaph Service and parade in Whitehall on 13th November. Remembrance Sunday services are also going to be held throughout the UK in the local communities, so please check with your local authorities for more information and join in to pay your kind respects.
The purpose and aim of the Remembrance Sunday Service is – ‘To Commemorate the contribution of British and commonwealth military and civilian servicemen and women in the two World Wars and later conflicts’.
Gateway 97.8 will be offering respect and admiration to our World War heroes by replaying an epic Inspiration Zone interview with the legendary 97 years old WW2 Veteran David Whiteman on this historical day. David Whiteman will be speaking about how he miraculously survived The Invasion of Dunkirk and The Battle of Arnhem in the 1940’s by using his courage, bravery and compassion for his comrades and country.
As a World War medical orderly, David had a goal and dream and that was to represent his country, protect the wounded soldiers and get them back safely. Despite being attacked on many occasions David kept his focus and completed all of his missions successfully.
So, join me, Jag Singh on Remembrance Sunday at 15:00 and hear David talk about the life threatening missions he and many other courageous individuals completed in order to make our world a better place for us all to live in. Joining in with the conversation will be a good friend of David’s – Alan Caulfield who will also be contributing his views on this respected day.
The Inspiration Zone will be providing our beloved listeners inspirational Punjabi, Hindi and English music throughout the show, including a classic track from Dame Vera Lynn DBE ‘The Force’s Sweetheart’, the legendary Bob Marley and many more. On this special day The Inspiration Zone will also be playing a spectacular motivational message from none other than ‘Team Fearless’ all the way from California, USA.
