I tried to block it out of my mind but it was, inevitably, just not possible ! For the second week running my live show clashed with a big England match and being a big football fan myself, I couldn’t help but keep peeking at the comments on Facebook and the updates on the BBC sport website as the unthinkable happened and Iceland scored against us … and then even took the lead !! 🙁
The rest is history now and I think I’ve got over the pain now, but intriguingly you can almost relive it with me again from 5pm today when last Monday’s show is repeated. Have a listen, not just to hear some top tunes from the world of soul, jazz-funk & disco, but also to see if you can spot the point where I REALLY got the hump without actually mentioning the match on air !
