I am really looking forward to getting back in the hot seat for this evening’s show – the first “regular” one since Xmas after the two specials over the festive period and a short-notice night off last week. Sadly, no less than four of the tracks I have chosen will be played in tribute to artists who have passed away in the last three weeks, but unfortunately it’s a situation that is becoming all too common as more and more of the great names in soul music move beyond their pension age …
The usual features will mostly be back this week, including “The Tasty 12” , “The Old Gits Jazzy Bit” & “The Vinyl Reminder” plus there’s a new featured artist for the month of January with some particularly cool cuts lined up all taken from a cult LP of the 80s. Throw in outstanding requests from Ann, Lorna & Samantha and you have a pretty decent looking radio show ready to hit your speakers between 7 & 9pm tonight !
