If you thought there was a sense of “deja vu” about this week’s shows on Monday and Saturday – you were right ! We repeated one from a couple of weeks ago as I needed some time out after a stressful few weeks behind the scenes and Monday was the most convenient day in my busy life. This time of year is sligthly quieter for me and with the weather improving and the hayfever season easing a tad, it is an ideal opportunity to relax and step aside from the mayhem in Neil-world.
This week I took myself back to my favourite place in the whole wide world, Matlock in Derbyshire and while there visited the truly beautiful and tranquil Dovedale for the first time in over 10 years. If you cannot relax there, then there is no hope for you !! Of course on the way up north and back it was soul tunes all the way and once my legs stop aching from all the walking, I will be fully recharged and refreshed, ready to return to the airwaves at 7pm on Monday … but don’t rule out one more day off before the end of summer !
I have just also updated the “Gigs List” by adding two more forthcoming events and amending the line-up for the imminent Margate Soul Festival. Sadly, Candi Staton is unable to attend after all this year, but the last minute additions in her place do look tasty !
