Neil Gits To A Double Century !

2nd August 2014
Posted by Neil Matthew

Tonight I am very excited to be presenting the repeat play of my 200th Monday evening show on Gateway 97.8FM and I have pulled out the Big Guns to mark the occasion with songs from Luther Vandross, Diana Ross, Heatwave, George Benson, Jean Carn, The Temptations, Phylis Hyman and Chairmen Of the Board – and that’s just in the first hour !! In the second half of the show you can add in some classic much-sampled Chic, a “Soul Soother” from the much missed Bobby Womack, a rare Motown cut by Marvin Gaye and this week’s “Tasty 12” courtesy of The Jacksons. And if you’ve listened regularly you know I like my other miscellaneous features so there’s a “Vinyl Reminder” which is a cracking 7″ single I found by accident whilst hunting out something else, a brilliant “Motown Joint Remixed” from one fo soul’s leading ladies, one of THE great jazz-soul instrumentals for my “Old Gits Jazzy Bit” and right at the end I’ll even be playing something from the soundtrack of “Dirty Dancing” !!! Phew-eee !! The weather may have thankfully have cooled down a touch, but the show is gonna be a scorcher – hope you can listen in, 5pm – 7pm today here at – and don’t miss the 201st show on Monday ! 🙂
