Neil Gits Ever So Slightly Festive…

My life being the way it is right now, I don’t have too much to think about at Xmas with hardly any relatives left alive and just me and Nathan at home, gift shopping took about 45  minutes in the Eastgate Centre the other week and I was in and out of Asda in less than 20 getting food supplies in for Monday. The girlfriend will be popping by to exchange pressies on the day, but she is quite similar to me in that neither of us really LIKE this time of year … for a number of reasons ! So I have skillfully avoided any Xmas parties this year, kept any old tatty decorations under lock and key in the attic and apart from at my two contractually-obliged “Xmas Quiz Nights” not played any Xmas songs at gigs or allowed their presence on my radio or CD player either at home or in the car !!

Mind you, I did find myelf humming one over-played classic the other day, so maybe it’s finally getting to me, but if you are a Mr or Mrs Bah Humbug like me, you will be delighted to know that there are NO XMAS SONGS WHATSOEVER on this week’s repeat play at 5pm today ! It is also the last show of the year, so thank you so much to all the regular and occasional listeners who have popped up either in Facebook or in my studio inbox during my live shows as well as the “hundreds of thousands” of ones who tune in without me ever knowing they are there ! 😉 There really is no point in doing it all without you !
