Getting a new “Cool Soul” blog up on t’internet in time for Saturday’s repeat play took second place this weekend to getting out and about with Nathan for a “Big Father & Son Football Day Out” ! But I have still posted the tracks played on last week’s show below for you to peruse – and of course there is a brand new LIVE show to enjoy this evening (Monday) at 7pm !
Our day didn’t get off to the best of starts – I set the alarm wrong and made Nathan 20 minutes late for the meet up in Chelsmford for his first 11-a-side, full-size pitch match, but we did make kick off and he played the full 70 minutes on no breakfast, his team winning 4-3 after being 3-0 down at half-time. Maybe the manager will get the hint that 10am kick-offs are just TOO darned early for everybody !
Next stop was Harlow, via a little errand for a friend in Braintree and a stop off at Subway for “lunchfast”. We went to see Billericay Town U-21s in their “Champion Of Champions Cup Final” against Worthing, which I’d sold to Nathan on the offchance of seeing a penalty shoot out, he’d never seen one “live” only on the telly. And indeed there was – after our team had twice been in the lead, pens it was … and we lost !! 🙁 But he still enjoyed it (especially the half-time burger!) and we finally headed back for home around 6pm.
I discovered that with Gateway’s recently improved signal you can just about make the station out on 97.8FM sitting at the traffic lights at the M11/A414 junction outside Harlow and could hear myself waffling on about something or other before we headed back towards Chelmsford and South Woodham Ferrers ! Hope you heard more of the repeat than we did – but now onwards and upwards with preparartions for tonight’s programme …
