Neil Gits In To 2013 In One Piece

Well, it seemed like touch and go at one stage but I seem to have found my way into the New Year without suffering any major ailments – and with my sanity just about intact ! Heading off to my annual dinner-dance gig on New Years Eve, I was able to listen to a decent chunk of my “Old Gits Best Bits” show in the car and it reminded me just how refreshing it is to be able to tune into a station (whether it is Gateway or elsewhere) that is doing something a bit different, where the DJ (me or whoever…) is playing music that stops you in your tracks and brings on various emotions, instead of just washing over you. That is what I try to do every week, find songs from the soul, jazz-funk & disco era of the 70s & 80s that provoke a reaction from my listener such as “Wow! Haven’t heard that track since I was a nipper!” or “Who WAS singing on that song? Must get it !”

I expect you might have been too busy last Monday to hear the first airing, so hopefully you can chill out this Saturday at 5pm and enjoy the repeat play of two hours of the best “re-discoveries” from my vinyl vaults – here is the full playlist:
