I have just spent most of Saturday in a field near Billericay at a youngsters five-a-side football tournament in which Nathan was taking part. His team didn’t reach the second round unfortunately, but I have to say it was a really enjoyable experience seeing so many local boys (and a few girls!) so enthusiatic about their footy, being supported by coaches and parents alike. Nathan even had a couple of school mates from another rival team come over and cheer him on at one point !
However, towards the end of our time there, it was a game of “shower-dodging” that I got involved in as the inevitable Bank Holiday weather started to show signs of developing, and after being exposed to the unfamiliar experience of fresh air for around six hours (!) I was glad to return home to my PC, write out my latest blog and tune in to some top tunes on the radio – these ones listed here in fact, to be heard on your radio from 5pm today !
