This year (to save me from tears!) I did a fair bit of present buying online, but it just wouldn’t be Xmas without spending a couple of hours wandering round Basildon Town Centre taking the festive atmosphere in. Stocking up on cheap chocolate for the season from Poundland, joining the crush for cards in Card Factory, being overwhelmed by the vast array of crimbo tack to choose from in Asda – it was all there, along with the many varied types of shopper, from the seasoned seen-it-all-before old timers to the stressed young parents to the almost insane smug grins of those who have a secret we don’t know about ! But after 120 minutes plus of Slade & Wizzard ringing in my ears, all of us really could do with a good dollop of S-O-U-L – which is just what you can find on Gateway97.8 this Saturday at 5pm, with another helping LIVE on Monday at 7pm !
