Provided by Inspire Youth Hub in Grays, a range of free virtual sessions are now available for young people in Thurrock aged 11 to 17. Various activities, quizzes and games are timetabled throughout the week that focus on educating and entertaining in equal measure and can be enjoyed from the safety of your own home.

As well as this, careers advice continues to be provided over the phone for young people in years 11 and 13 to support next steps in education, employment or training as well as supporting with individual careers interviews.

Cllr Andrew Jefferies, Cabinet Member for Education, said:

“The council’s award-winning Inspire Youth Hub hosts an engaging calendar of events throughout the week that are free to attend and focus on making learning both fun and informative. They are a terrific way for our young people to access our services and connect with other young people during these difficult times.

“Offering virtual career advice is another great example of how we are working to help our young people attain their ambitions in life. The team are doing all they can to support our young people in their next steps to reach their chosen career, providing advice for them to get into full time education, apprenticeships or full time employment.

“I would encourage our young people to check out what we have on offer and make the most of these opportunities to connect with others in the community and learn new skills.”

The virtual sessions are updated every two weeks, to find out more and book your place on an upcoming free activity session please visit: thurrock.gov.uk/activethurrock
