Towngate Theatre cafe bar reopens on Monday

The Towngate Theatre, Basildon are delighted to announce that they are reopening their popular Café Bar from Monday 13 July 2020 for both takeaway and sit-in service. Whilst the Theatre remains closed for performances under current government guidelines, the reopening of the Café Bar will be a welcome return to the town centre as it continues to emerge out of the lockdown state. 

Many changes have been made to ensure that the service is completely safe and socially-distanced for the protection of both customers and the Towngate staff.

Theatre Manager, Simon Scott-Pearce said: 

“We are thrilled that we are now able to reopen our Café Bar and welcome back our customers who have been missing our delicious food and drink offerings. Our town centre location makes it the ideal place to pop in for a coffee after shopping, or to grab a tasty lunch whilst working. Our food is made freshly to order, and we have we have a variety of both hot and cold breakfast, lunch and light bite options to choose from. We have taken every precaution to ensure that we adhere to all social distancing regulations, so we can reassure our customers that this is a safe environment to enjoy a tasty meal, chilled glass of wine or a refreshing soft drink. We are also offering a takeaway service which is ideal for anyone who just wants to grab a sandwich and coffee when they’re on-the-go. 

Whilst we are still unable to reopen our beautiful Theatre under the current government guidelines, we are delighted that the Towngate will once again be able to welcome back the people of Basildon through our doors. We very much look forward to the day when we can once again provide fantastic live entertainment for Essex, but until that day, we are just thrilled to once again be a part of your lives in this capacity.”
