Listen: ‘Boost Day’ with Dr Sarah Jarvis
A new advertising blitz encouraging eligible people to get whichever vaccine they are eligible for (first dose, second dose, booster or flu) has launched today on the anniversary of the UK approving the first COVID-19 vaccine in the world.
Designated as ‘Boost Day’, the advertising launch involves a series of adverts across TV, radio and social to encourage people to get their top-up jabs to protect themselves and their loved ones ahead of Christmas.
Earlier this week, the government expanded the booster programme to all adults over 18 and announced that all eligible people will be offered a top-up jab by the end of January.
The NHS will continue to prioritise people by age to ensure those most vulnerable to COVID-19 are vaccinated first, and people will be invited when it is their turn.
