  1. well done to the lads that won it ,its great to hear some off the old classics last night.Good all round performance . And well done to the band Such strange arts. they were the most existing band of the evening with good original songs written by the young lads, they only played one cover on the night which I must admit I’d never heard livin la vida loca played in that style before, very refreshing. It’s just a shame after the very positive comments made by the judges, seem to get lost by the end of the evening. But I must say for the lads to come 3rd in their first competition, they did extremely well and it was a good all round performance for all the bands in my opinion last night.
And CONGRATULATIONS!on raising £1600 FOR THE PARKINSONS SUPPORT GROUP IN THURROCK.

    1. I agree with a lot of what you have said but I believe what swung the Judges on the night was performance and sound and not whether you did cover songs or not.
Not Now Jhon’s performance with their amazing lead vocalist was outstanding and you could hear every instrument and every word the vocalist said. Also, their own version of ‘King Bee’ stole the night and the crowed let the judges know.
I believe many bands just didn’t get their sound right on the night, unfortunately. It was not the sound engineers thought when one band gets it right and others dont. Other bands were just so so loud, you could not hear any of the vocals and your ears were bleading! It dosent matter how good you are if your sounds not right, no one can get an idea of what a band is truly like. I’m sure if you herd any of the bands demo recordings they would be brilliant but live performance is a different ball game. Even in most pubs, clubs and venues around the country this seems to be the case.
I feel all the bands were great and should not feel negative about any part of the night but take the experience, learn, and move forward. I’m sure we are going to hear great things from all the bands in the future.
