Chief Constable Stephen Kavanagh visited the Gateway 97.8 studios in the Eastgate on Tuesday 8th October as part of the Good Afternoon programme.
Colleague Sergeant Paul Costin is a regular contributor to the station with his monthly ‘On the Beat’ show. The Chief saw Paul in action before taking to the airwaves himself.
During the interview he was asked about policing in general across Basildon.
He also met many of the volunteers that make up Gateway 97.8 and looked at the Essex Police Cup which was won by Danny Lawrence earlier this year for services to the community.
