A supersized supermarket which has undergone its first re-fit since opening 15 years ago, has had more than 600 people apply for just 40 positions, after a makeover at Tesco Extra in Pitsea, which is one of the largest of its types in the country.
New departments in the revamped store include clothing ranges, Baby World, beauty section with make-up artists on hand, new Regis hairdressers for those who want to get their hair done, and you can now also pop in, just to get a spray tan.
Not only are there new departments, the upstairs café has also had a revamped, the fixture and fittings in the shop were replaced, and the Fruit and Vegetables department has been re-done.
£1,000 has been donated to Basildon’s St. Luke’s Hospice, based in Nethermayne, as part of the re-launch of the Tesco Store in Pitsea, with a further £1,000 given to Basildon Council to support the Pitsea Community Christmas event, in which Gateway 97.8 will be holding their Roadshow for this Saturday, 1st December 2012.
