Police appeal after two men attacked by gang in Laindon

Police are appealing for witnesses to a disturbance in which a man and a teenage boy were injured.

Officers were called to reports that a group of men were assaulting the victims in Powell Road, Laindon, shortly before 8.20pm on Friday, May 1.
Another group of men armed with offensive weapons were then believed to have arrived in a flat bed truck and later left.

A 40-year-old man from the Basildon area suffered a cut to his head and a 16-year-old boy, also from the Basildon area, suffered a bruised arm. Their injuries were not serious and they were taken to hospital for treatment.

Five men from Basildon aged 46, 43, 32, 30, and 25 were arrested in connection with the incident and released on police bail until Monday, June 1.
