Tilbury’s reward for knocking out Essex Cassells Under 16s Cup holders Thurrock is an away tie at either Grays Athletic or Stanway Rovers after the draw for the semi-finals was confirmed on Wednesday.
The Dockers’ slender triumph over their near neighbours was the only quarter-final to take place on another wet weekend.
Meanwhile, the winners of the outstanding Aveley and East Thurrock United tie will host the victors of AFC Hornchurch vs Dagenham United in the penultimate stage.
In the Andrews Under 14s Cup, only Redbridge managed to defeat both the weather and their opponents to reach the last four, where they will entertain either Bishop’s Stortford or Tilbury. Concord Rangers or Euro Dagenham look forward to a home fixture against Brentwood Town or Buckhurst Hill (Royals).
As yet, not a single ball has been kicked in the quarter-finals of the Saturday Junior Trophy, with one tie from round four also still to be played.
What can be deciphered of the semi-final draw is that there will be a home tie for one of Flitch United, Rayford Athletic or Dunmow Rhodes, who will host either Rayleigh Town A or Sandon Royals. Beacon Hill Rovers or Boreham have been drawn at home to Real Dagenham or Focus Ferrers.
