Southend schoolgirl Moesha Howard, aged 16, achieved a personal best but unfortunately was still unable to qualify for the World Youth Championships Final.
Moesha a pupil at Futures College finished in fourth place and narrowly missed a fastest losers spot. Â She said “my start wasn’t great, but I put a lot of work in the middle and I put what I could into the race. Â It wasn’t the time I was hoping for, but a lot of people are running well”.
Representing Great Britain for the first time, Moesha ran 14.11s in her heat.
