Author Amanda Prowse publishes memoir ‘Women Like Us’

Amanda rose to fame telling the stories of fictional women, giving out some sage advice along the way.

In her memoir, Women Like Us, Amanda considers her value in a world that presents conflicting messages to women, who are told to smash the glass ceilings, love who they are, but not to get a wrinkle or put on weight, and the impact this is having on the next generation.

Having struggled with body image throughout her life, sparked by surgery as a teen for a congenital defect that left her pelvis deeply scarred, Amanda talks frankly about her experience of having cosmetic surgery, food addiction, what it’s really like to be morbidly obese in today’s society, and her journey to self-acceptance.

Aston spoke to author Amanda Prowse.
