Digital hoarding leaves millions with more snaps on their phones

Britain is a nation of digital hoarders with millions of us storing more than 10,000 photographs on our smartphones, according to a new study.

Digital photos have become some of our most treasured possessions with more than 2,000 pictures crammed onto the average person’s phone – with one in 20 Brits even holding on to more than 10,000 snaps.

Brits are now more likely to chuck out family heirlooms, clothes, children’s drawings, music collections, and childhood keepsakes like teddy bears, than they are to delete photos from their smartphone gallery.

Consequently, half of us routinely have to do a digital declutter at least once a year to keep our devices working, the research by Samsung UK found.

Aston spoke to James Kitto, head of UK & Ireland at Samsung Mobile.
