Anna Williamson on why we’re becoming more unreliable

According to the latest research faking illness, family commitments and tiredness are the most common excuses to dodge a social occasion.

The study by FREENOW revealed the lengths we’ll go to-to get out of commitments, including saying we’re ill, having to work late and simply not having the time.

And it seems our excuses can backfire with around a quarter of Brits (24 percent) saying they feel guilty after using one to get out of a social situation.
