Listen: making sure your travel insurance is up to date

We are just days away from schools around the UK breaking up for the summer holidays (25th July 2024), with latest ONS figures suggesting Spain, France and Italy are the most popular destinations for families to jet off to during the summer break.

Yet millions of holidaymakers are travelling abroad this summer without any form of travel insurance leaving them liable for big expenses should the unexpected happen.

Without travel insurance, medical repatriation alone from Europe could cost you £40,000-£60,000, with medical costs on top – money most travellers wouldn’t be able to afford.

Aston spoke to Alice Lawson, associate director of insurance at Holiday Extras.
