Sunday Delight – 13th October

14th October 2024
Posted by Ros Connors

Hello once again dear listener.  It’s the middle of the month and despite constant news coverage, I’ve failed to see the Northern Lights which apparently have been very easy to spot over Essex and some of you have posted some wonderful pictures on social media showing all the colour.  Oh well, maybe next time.  Since my last blog I have welcomed a newcomer to my home.  Little ‘Blackie’ the tuxedo cat joined our household on Saturday and is settling in as we speak.  I’m sure he’s finding it a bit overwhleming, but reckon he’s going to enjoy lots of food treats, especially when we reach Christmas with the smell of turkey in the air.  Local musician Julian May drops in on the show to talk about his new folk band The Remedy, and our ‘Retro Rewind’ takes us back to 1974 when on 13th October the first episode of the US TV series ‘Planet of the Apes’ aired, and took the UK by storm,  It triggered a swathe of double-bill screenings of the previous five ‘Apes’ cinema movies at local theatres.

Enjoy the tunes.
