BBW CVS interview day at Gateway 97.8

7 charities have recently secured a total of £108.294 of vital funding to deliver a wide spectrum of
community projects in the borough of Basildon, with the support of The Basildon Billericay and
Wickford Council for Voluntary Services (BBW CVS) and NHS Mid and South Essex via its
Basildon and Brentwood Alliance.

The successful organisations who received grants from the Health Inequalities Fund were:

• Brighter Opportunities for Special People (BOSP), that improves the lives of children
  and young people with complex disabilities or life-limiting conditions and their families
  by providing high-quality, fun, educational activities, support and respite care.
• Homestart Basildon, who will use the funding to provide behavioural help and support to
  local families.
• Hope Community Supermarket, which runs low-cost community supermarkets at Trinity
  Methodist Church in Vange from 10am-12noon on Tuesdays and at the Laindon Community
  Centre from 1pm-3pm on Fridays.
• Hope For African Communities, who will use the funding to support their food pantry and
  to delivery specialist community health workshops at their Living Word Community Church
  base in Honeypot Lane.
• Kool Carers, who support young carers who care and look after a member of their family
  who are sick or disabled.
• The Flex Youth and Community Group, which supports and facilitates clubs and activities
  for young people from ethnically diverse and socially deprived backgrounds.
• The Limbless Association, who will be setting up a new hub in Basildon for amputees,
  their families and carers
