Do parents avoid discussing money with their children?
1 in 3 parents are shirking conversations about money with their children – because they don’t want them to make the same mistakes they did.
The majority (85%) worry they’ll give their offspring bad financial guidance, with many not being confident to give advice about investing (29%) budgeting (25%) and credit scores (23%).
While 21% have struggled to discuss saving for university with their kids.
Research commissioned by Skipton Building Society also reveals that over half (51%) of parents want to give their kids the best footing in life financially, but don’t feel qualified to give them what they need.
