Could flexible working unlock millions in our economy?

Peanut CEO Michelle Kennedy is calling on companies to be more supportive of flexible working.

Her comments coincide with new research out from Vodafone which will reveal how allowing new parents to work flexibly to support their childcare needs, instead of taking forced unplanned leave, for just 12 days a year, could unlock a massive £247 million for the Essex economy [1].

The comprehensive study speaking to parents across the whole of the UK, will also show howclose to 10,000 Essex parents not currently in paid employment, could be tempted to re-enter the workforce, if flexible working was offered.

Vodafone has partnered with online parenting community Peanut to highlight how inclusive workplace policies are a ‘win-win’ for parents and employers.

Ros spoke to Michelle Kennedy, CEO of Peanut and Nicki Lyons, chief corporate affairs and sustainability officer at Vodafone UK.
