Listen: how the heat is hijacking our sleep

As temperatures have been soaring already this summer, millions of us are facing a growing crisis that isn’t just making us sweat… it’s sabotaging our sleep and our relationships at home.

New research reveals that more than half of us are struggling with excessive indoor heat and for many, stifling summer nights are becoming the norm. But with that comes poor sleep, rising stress levels, and even arguments between partners and family members.

A hot bedroom can become a pressure cooker for tension and making people more prone to conflict and poor decision-making due to lack of sleep. However, the findings from VELUX’s Future of Home report show that despite a widespread awareness of the issue, very few of us making changes that could dramatically improve our wellbeing.

Aston spoke to Neil Freshwater, VELUX home health expert and Circadian neuroscientist Selma Tir.
