Are we recognising the dog dental dangers?
One in four dog owners don’t think they could tell if their four-legged friend had healthy teeth or gums.
The poll of 2,000 dog parents revealed 29 per cent wouldn’t be overly concerned if their pooch had bad breath – simply because they assume every pooch does.
Only 25 per cent would recognise excess drooling as a potential red flag, and the same number would link changes in mood or behaviour to a dental issue.
The research, commissioned by Purina Dentalife and supported by vet Dr Paul Manktelow, is designed to help dog owners spot early signs of dental trouble and understand what to look out for.
