Neil Gits Three Quarters To 1000 !

Well, it’s not every week you reach a significant landmark, so you might as well shout about it ! Last Monday was my 750th “Old Gits Soul Show” on Gateway, playing two hours of quality & varied soul, jazz-funk & disco tunes from the 70s 80s & beyond as I have been doing every week since September 2010.

I seem to be getting the hang of this radio presenting lark now, although for every minor improvement I make to the process week by week, there’s a stupid error caused mainly by the onset of old age. Strangely, some of my loyal regular listeners seem to find them amusing … and one even admits that she listens for the “waffle” in between the songs as much as for the music itself !

I received some really lovely feedback (on the tunes !) last Monday and will be aiming to keep the standards up for a good while yet – next month we’ll be celebrating the 15th anniversary of the show, first aired on 27/09/2010 !
