Nick Sharratt raising awareness of the families missing out on childcare

Eligible families across England could save up to £7,500 annually as the government rolls out the final phase of its landmark childcare expansion, part of its wider Plan for Change. From September, working parents of children aged from 9 months up to school age will be able to access up to 30 hours of funded childcare each week for 38 weeks a year.

Children can begin receiving support from the term after they turn 9 months old. Families must act now, though, as the 31st August deadline to apply for this extra funding is fast approaching!

The expanded offer is designed to ease financial pressure on families, help parents stay in or return to work, and give children the best start in life through access to high-quality early education. Research shows formal childcare supports a child’s social, emotional, and cognitive development, helping prepare them for school.
