Is the back to school run the most stressful time of the year?
For many families, the end of summer brings more than just new uniforms and sharpened pencils – it brings stress. New research from Pod reveals that the first day back at school is officially the most stressful moment in the parenting calendar.
It’s little wonder then that 63% of parents are citing that back to school is the most stressful day of the year, despite longing for the end of the school holidays. Over seven in ten (72%) say the school run is the most stressful part of the day, with 57% forgetting something important on the first day back.
Parents admit to an array of blunders as they attempt to get everyone out of the door in one piece. More than half (51%) have left lunchboxes behind, two in five (40%) have realised too late that their child’s bag is still at home, while nearly a third (31%) have set off without enough charge or fuel in the car.
