Black History Month

As the UK prepares for Black History Month this October, a new national campaign is spotlighting 25 Black and Mixed-Black founders whose companies are growing despite the toughest funding climate in years.

New research of black & ethnic minority founders has uncovered four-fifths (81%) say raising start-up funding is difficult, vs 56% of white counterparts’ and 79% feel unsupported by the wider business community (vs 41%).

The stats commissioned by Wray Forward, an initiative that supports Black Founders across the UK, come as they release their Powerbook for 2025, an annual showcase of some of the most potentially game-changing black and mixed-race business figures benefitting from funding and mentorship opportunities to grow their companies.

Ros spoke to DJ and entrepenaur China L’One.
