Road Safety Week: Stats show local roads no longer safe to travel

As Road Safety Week begins, new research reveals a widespread lack of confidence in the safety of Britain’s roads.

From winding country roads to busy junctions, more than half (54%) of Brits say they feel unsafe using the roads in their local area, and 44% believe their streets are unsafe overall.

The data from Slater and Gordon uncovers rising anxiety around deteriorating road conditions as almost half (48%) avoid certain roads because they feel too dangerous, while 63% say potholes make them feel unsafe when driving.
