Strictly Come Dancing gears up for musicals week

Following RuPaul’s Drag Race star La Voix’s sad withdrawal through injury, the remaining 6 couples took to the dancefloor to impress the judges and the public. The scores and public votes from Blackpool were also carried over, but there was a new challenge called instant dance.

Topping the judges leaderboard this past weekend both scoring a perfect 40/40 were former lioness footballer Karen Carney and her professional dance partner Carlos Gu with their couples choice and 2017 Love Island winner & stage actress Amber Davies and her professional dance partner Nikita Kuzmin for their jive. The instant dance challenge was won by former Emmerdale actor Lewis Cope and his professional dance partner Katya Jones and after the combined scores they topped the leaderboard across the 2 weeks with a score of 82/86 in total.

The judge given the power of the casting in an event of tie for this past weekend’s dance off was Shirley Ballas. Eastenders actress Balvinder Sopal and her professional dance partner Jullian Caillon found themselves in the dance off for the fifth time this year and they were joined by actress Alex Kingston and her professional dance partner Johannes Radebe. The judges voted to save Balvinder meaning Alex is now out of Strictly Come Dancing 2025.

Strictly Come Dancing returns this weekend for musicals week.

The line up for the Christmas special of Strictly Come Dancing was annnounce and these are the celebrities taking part and who they are paired with:

• Actor & comedian Babatunde Aleshe who is going to be paired with professional dancer Nancy Xu
• Former Westlife singer Brian McFadden who is going to be paired with professional dancer Michelle Tsiakkas
• Former Rugby Union player & Gladiator Jodie Ounsley a.k.a Fury who is going to be paired with profesional dance partner Neil Jones
• Former All Saints singer Melanie Blatt who is going to be paired with professional dance partner Kai Widdrington
• Eastenders actor Nicholas Bailey who is going to be paired with professional dance partner Luba Mushtuk
• Gogglebox star & TV presenter Scarlett Moffatt who is going to be paired with professinal dance partner Vito Coppola
