Are millions of Brits facing sleep deprivation?

Britain is facing a sleep crisis, as new data shows a quarter of Brits are getting by on just five hours of sleep a night, with millions falling short of getting the rest they need.

NHS guidelines recommend adults get between seven and nine hours of sleep each night and new research from Curaleaf Clinic reveals the average Brit feels they need around 7.5 hours to feel properly rested.

However, the research shows that on average people in the UK are getting just 6.4 hours of sleep, equating to a weekly sleep deficit of 8.1 hours per person.

Aston spoke to Dr Simon Erridge, director of research at Curaleaf Clinic and Tom Evans.
