Dads reveal what they fear most about fatherhood

As boys approach their teenage years, many dads worry the close bond they once shared with their son is at risk.

New research commissioned by McCain, in partnership with Beyond Equality, lifts the lid on what’s worrying today’s father figures, how modern parenting pressures come into play, and why playfulness and shared laughter is key to keeping that father-son bond strong.

The study of 500 UK dads with sons aged seven to 11 reveals that nearly two‑thirds (63%) worry their son will drift away from them during the teenage years, while more than half (54%) say they want a more meaningful relationship with their son but don’t know where to begin.
